Travel with Koigu: Part 5

Not too many new events to report on the farm, as days continue to roll into one another. We’ve been working extra hard as a family to keep orders going and get product on the next truck out. With many of our regular shows being cancelled we’ve had to start brainstorming on new ideas, especially for the wholesale part of the company.

The dogs continue to get their extra long, daily hike on the property as we try to get some fresh air. We also have started to cut the dogs hair ourselves, beginning with Chelsea’s. She looks great, and still loves us so it went better than expected.

We have three more colours as apart of the travelling with Koigu series, that are just as stunning as the last. Many stores have commented on a flurry of interest from customers following these blog posts, so I wanted to thank you for continuing to support LYS’s during this time! As some restaurants locally have announced closures for good, it has brought further perspective over how important supporting and buying local is!

Happy making, and enjoy your trip to Morocco, Australia and Turkey!

Australia is on many people’s bucket list. Dreams of the Outback, white sand beaches and many other beautiful outdoor activities. Australia is also one of the top producers of wool around the world. Our hearts went out too many of the farmers earlier this year during the Australian Wildfires. But with the help of a supportive community, many were able to receive aid, and are continuing to build with their families. One of our favourite designers from Australia, who we’ve had the privilege to work with is Ambah O’Brien who designed the Venation Shawl out of a Koigu Pencil Box.

Kersti is dying to take a trip to Istanbul, and is one of the top on her bucket list. Taiu is also dying to purchase a Turkish rug, and eat some Baklava, so were sensing a mother/daughter trip sometime soon! Aside from indulging in Turkish food, we can’t wait to head to the historic city of Istanbul, for a tour of Ottoman Empire palaces. Of course you can’t miss the bazaar, where you can look for colour inspiration of all kinds to fuel your imagination.
