A Year In Review
Collector Colours
This past year, we’ve created 12 collector colours, which have shipped globally to LYS’s. Slowly makers have been collecting the colours and making projects. We’d love to know what you’ve made, be sure to share with us, using the hashtag #koigucollectorclub.
Other custom colours we loved dying this year, were the LYS Day colours in April, where we focussed on dye lots inspired by regions.
New Yarn!
This year, we’ve launched Koigu Origins, a breed specific yarn line which focuses on the roots of Koigu! There is currently fours main yarns, which will alter overtime, as supply is limited. The yarns include, Cheers, Corriedale, Corriedale-Gotland and Aura. To learn more about the line visit www.koiguorigins.com
Shows
2019 started out in New York at Vogue Knitting Live, one of our favourite events of the year! This coming year you can find us in booth #703, more information on what will be bringing coming soon.
Following this we headed to Portland for the first TNNA tradeshow, the second being in Cleveland! Not to forget on elf our favourite shows in Koln, Germany, Handerbeit and Hobby.
Workshops
This year we hosted three workshops at the farm with LYS’s Michigan Fine Yarns and Shall We Knit!, These workshops are lots of fun for us, as we get to share our passion for dying with others.
EVENTS
Our biggest event of the year, the Koigu Tent Sale, while being rained on was a huge success for the fourth year in a row. We can’t wait for the big 5th anniversary, look out for more information on 2020’s dates coming out soon. Other fun events we attended this year in Canada were the Gilmore Girl Fan Fest and sponsoring Our Maker Life!
LYS’s
We had the opportunity to visit some of our Canadian shops this year, including Pudding Yarn in Calgary, Knit School in Unionville and the Knitting Loft in Toronto!
New Projects
This year we’ve published many new design collections, including Pencil Box Collection 2, Vill 2 and Collection 1.0. Also one of our most exciting collaborations from 2019 was with Ambah O’brien, the Venation Shawl which uses on of our Pencil Boxes!
Puppies
Can’t forget in the new inclusion to our family Poppy! The Koigu Farm would be nothing without it’s four legged furry friends.
