Kersti's Finished Projects: Part 2

My prolific knitting came to a bit of a stand still as the summer hit, something about the excessive heat makes me less likely to knit. Though that being said I did get two projects finished and I’m starting the shoulders on a new project which is exciting.

Balloon Cardigan

The Balloon Cardigan I’ve been working on for a while. It was the project I picked up when I was in Zoom meetings and classes, and eventually became my sleeve hill I didn’t want to climb. Sleeves, are the last thing I ever want to do, I’ll tuck in ends before finishing a sleeve. But, I did eventually finish the cardigan and I am so pleased with it. Designed by Peitit Knit, this pattern can be knit in any dk weight yarn, so our Kersti, Cheers, Corriedale, Corriedale+Gotland, Emmi and a new yarn Jasmine were about to release. So in essence, you have alot of options to work with. Something I loved about this pattern was that its top down, being able to extend the length or shorten it as I worked was great.

The cardigan was knit using the natural Grey Corriedale+Gotland, but could also be knit using the following colours.

Billie Zip

My other finished project was the Billie Zip Sweater designed by Joan Ho. This was my first time attaching a zipper to a knit project and Joan’s pattern helped me through the process and was a great experience to knit. This sweater is a great example of what your project can look like if you are using yarn from different dye lots. I knit this sweater for the test knitting process and was using mustard Chelsea yarn from my stash leftover from other projects. While the colour is a little uneven I still love the way it turned out, and let it be a lesson to anyone who doesn’t want varied colouring… buy the extra skein. I knit this project using Koigu Chelsea, luckily there’s many colour options to choose from so you can make this sweater in many colour options!
