Many of you may have read and enjoyed our post on properly folding a triangular scarf! If you haven’t had a chance to read it, view here.
In the post there were two different scarves shown. The first being the one in the video, Patch of Berries, available in the book wrapped in color. WIC includes 30 different beautiful shawls, knit in fingering, dk, lace and bulky weight yarns.

The second scarf shown was the Koigu One Skein Scarf! Both scarfs call for one skein, a great pattern for breaking down your stash of Koigu yarn. Scarf can be knit in both garter and moss stitch.

Koigu Single Skein Scarf Pattern
Materials & Needles
- 1 skein KPPPM (Makes a triangular scarf 36” long, 18” deep)
- 3.5mm (4US) straight needles or 3.5mm / 24” circular needle
- 2.5mm crochet hook
Gauge
- 26 sts to 30 rows with 3.5mm (4US) knitting needles knit stocking stitch makes a 4 inch square
Scarf
Cast on 3.5mm (4US) needle 7 sts. Knit stocking stitch (for texture the scarf looks nice in garter stitch or moss stitch as well)
Row 3: K2, yon, K1, yon, K1, yon, K1 yon, K2.
Row 4: Purl.
Row 5: K2, yon, K3, yon, K1, yon, K3, yon, K2.
Row 6: Purl.
Row 7: K2, yon, K5, yon, K1, yon, K5, yon, K2.
Row 8: Purl.
Continue in the same manner increasing every alternate row. Until scarf measures 18” deep and 36” long (approx. 200 sts). Cast off. SIngle crochet around the scarf 3 times.
Optional Fringe
Cut 3” lengths of yarn for fringe. With a 2.5mm crochet hook, make fringe around the two shorter sides.
Block
Wet scarf and pin scarf on a towel to desired shape and size.
Moss Stitch
Row 1 and 4: K, *P, K1, rep from * to end.
Row 2 and 3: P1, *K1, P1, rep from * toend.
